Ryan’s running career started in the 3rd grade when he laid it all on the line in a local 5k that he ran with his mother. He continued running in 6th grade because he couldn’t make the team in any sport that had cuts. Although Ryan was overweight and slow, he stuck to it because of his mother and coaches, and his competitive nature. Ryan had an excellent career at the Naval Academy, where he was a First Team Academic All-American, Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year, and First Team All Conference and All Region in XC his senior year. With GRC, Ryan is looking to improve his track times, and make a successful transition to longer road distances. Ryan completed graduate school at the University of Maryland studying Aerospace Engineering. He is now attending flight school to become a Navy Pilot in Pensacola, FL.
