Chris Bain started long distance running the summer before his sophmore year in high school. High school honors include All Prep (VA Prep League) junior and senior year and All State (VA Independent Schools) senior year in cross country. After a hiatus from competition during the first two years of college, Chris began running marathons, starting with the Marine Corps Marathon in 1997. Having qualified for the Boston Marathon, he initiated a streak of Bostons in 1998 and has been running it every year since. Upon graduating college, Chris moved to the DC area in 1999 and soon began racing in the local scene, running distances from 5K to the marathon. He now trains and races with the Georgetown Running Club.
