Cameron started running in high school to stay in shape for basketball. After qualifying for the California state cross country meet in his first season in the sport, he realized he’d get much further on dirt and rubber than he would on hardwood (his mother still hasn’t forgiven him for dropping basketball). Cameron capped his high school career with an appearance at the 2011 Footlocker National Cross Country Championships (finishing 31st) and went on to run at Stanford, where he was a member of teams finishing 2nd (2014) and 3rd (2015) at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. After taking roughly 6 years off from competitive running to attend law school and get settled in his career, Cameron is looking forward to making up for lost time in events ranging from the 5k to the half-marathon.
